Semien simply refuses to miss games — and the perfectly-timed arrival of his newborn daughter seemed to fall in line with that.

“The last couple weeks of the season, I was just fearing I wouldn’t be able to be there because these games mean so much,” Semien said. “It was tough. These are the most meaningful games of my life and these are the most meaningful days for our family. We didn’t really have a plan because . After the game Tuesday, I got to hug my family and she said ‘we’re going to induce on Thursday’. That’s how we figured it out.
Semien has played 859 games since 2018, tied with Freddie Freeman for the most in the majors, but he’s got nearly 200 more innings than Freeman in the field. He has played 294 consecutive regular season games, 299 with the Rangers’ five postseason games this year.
