Man United suffered another chastening defeat on Tuesday night but Rasmus Hojlund provided a hint of optimism for supporters leaving Old Trafford.
Manchester United supporters left Old Trafford with little to smile about on Tuesday night, having seen a performance only worsened the following day by Rishi Sunak's Conservative Party conference speech in the old Manchester Central station.
"A little bit difficult," was how Hojlund described the defeat and the 20-year-old could be excused for cursing his teammates in the dressing room after full-time. This was meant to be his night. "I'm honestly super excited about it," Rashford told MUTV of his growing relationship with Hojlund last month. "At times last year on counter-attacks when you look up, you just see shirts of the other team and only the cutback was on for Bruno.
Rashford spent last season alongside two immobile teammates leading the line, with Wout Weghorst replacing Cristiano Ronaldo in January. All too often, the pacey forward raced into the final third and found nothing in the way of support.
