President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Wednesday extended his well wishes to Japanese Emperor Naruhito for his 63rd birthday on February 23.
Marcos wished the emperor “abundant blessings” on his birthday. He said the Philippines was committed to maintaining the “positive trajectory” of its bilateral relations with Japan. "The breadth and depth of our engagement with Japan is a partnership for peace and progress, not only for Japan but certainly for the Philippines. Our strategic partnership is indeed stronger than ever,” Marcos said in his remarks during the National Day of Japan and the birthday celebration of Emperor Naruhito.
"I wish abundant happiness and blessings to His Majesty The Emperor as he leads Japan to continued prosperity and the promotion of peace,” he added. The President recently went to Japan for a five-day state visit where he met with Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako and secured over $13 billion in contributions and pledges from investors.
