“I just came here para makiramay sa family ni Gov. Roel. Nagtatanong lang kami kung ano pa ‘yung kailangang gawin, paano matulungan ‘yung mga biktima at pati ‘yung mga nasa ospital ngayon,” he told members of the media.
“Nandiyan ‘yung mga ibang kamag-anak at asawa ng mga namatay kaya’t nakausap din natin. Sinabi ko lang sa kanila na makakaasa sila na magkakaroon ng hustisya dito sa inyong probinsiya na naging masyadong magulo na,” Marcos added. Degamo was shot by one of six men wearing Army uniforms and bulletproof vests who entered his residential compound in Pamplona town as he was meeting with beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and local officials on Saturday morning.
Marcos earlier ordered the police to identify political hotspots in the country and dismantle private armies.
