PRESIDENT Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.

has ordered the construction of fish ports in 11 coastal provinces to address challenges faced by fisherfolks in the country, Malacañang said Tuesday.Marcos issued the directive during his meeting with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in which BFAR presented the challenges of fish supply and demand for fiscal year 2023.

'The President also directed the concerned agencies to provide small-scale fisherfolk ice-making machines and intensive training, and distribute equipment to bring down post-harvest losses.He also ordered the rehabilitation of 20 identified municipal fish ports tagged as traditional landing ports in the country.
