President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has ordered the creation of an inter-agency task force to prepare and coordinate all government efforts for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
“All heads of departments, bureaus, offices, agencies or instrumentalities of the government, including government-owned or -controlled corporations, and state universities and colleges are hereby directed to extend full support and assistance, consistent with their respective mandates, to the PSC and SBP in the preparatory activities for the Philippines' hosting of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 including, among others, the procurement of necessary materials and equipment, provision of...
The local government units, non-government organizations, and the private sector are also encouraged to cooperate and support the preparation for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. Meanwhile, it also stated that the funds necessary for the implementation of this order shall be charged against available appropriations of the agencies concerned, subject to existing budgeting, accounting, and auditing laws, rules and regulations.for the 2023 FIBA World Cup which will be hosted by the Philippines along with Japan and Indonesia.
The volunteers are tasked to complement the workforce allotted for the event which will be held from August 25 to September 10, 2023.
