LABUAN BAJO - President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said Wednesday that ASEAN member states should unite in encouraging developed countries to fulfill their commitments to the Paris Agreement as developing nations are adversely affected by climate change.
"Although developing countries such as the Philippines only account for less than 1% of global emissions, our countries bear the brunt of the devastating impacts of climate change," he added. He further said the Philippines recognizes that biodiversity can complement and synergize with the ASEAN’s initiatives on climate change, which can contribute to efforts towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
