Barcelona full-back Marcos Alonso has been linked with a move to Man United this week as the Reds try to solve their injury woes
Manchester United are in a position of weakness during this final week of the summer transfer window after an injury crisis at left-back.
MEN Sport understands Erik ten Hag is weighing up his options in the market for this position with Marc Cucurella and Sergio Reguilon both being assessed. One namealso under consideration at United is Marcos Alonso. "He can play as a full-back, central, he plays really well, he’s one of the few left footers we have. He’s a really good signing for us.
Like the England international, Alonso is more comfortable as a left-back, but having a player who can fill at centre-back will be crucial for United this season. Clearly, Harry Maguire is out of favour so this leaves just Victor Lindelof to cover Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
