Springbok Makazole Mapimpi has finally returned to social media after a devastating injury ruled him out of the Rugby World Cup.
The star player returned to South Africa after he sustained a facial fracture in SA’s game against Tonga earlier this month.On Wednesday, 11 October, Makazole Mapimpi returned to Instagram after almost two weeks of silence. On his Instagram Stories, the 33-year-old athlete posted a picture of him at the beach with the waves crashing down against the sand.Makazole Mapimpi posted and deleted an Instagram Story after his Rugby World Cup exit. Images via Instagram: @makazolisustained a severe facial injuryAfter being consulted by a medical doctor, the extent of his injury was determined: a fractured cheekbone and eye socket. The recovery time frame was between 4 – 6 weeks.
Rassie added that should the SA progress to the Rugby World Cup final, he would fly Mapimpi and Malcolm Marx – who was also injured – back to France.
