Hundreds of districts moved to virtual learning due to COVID cases increasing and staff not being available.

Wednesday, January 5, 2022 - Ryan Brown, 6, juggles a computer, reading book and notebook while attending school virtually from home.Staffing shortages and rising COVID cases or exposures among students and teachers are prompting many school districts to extend virtual learning for another week.

Although individual schools and districts can choose to go remote in consultation with their local health officials, Gov. Phil Murphy said on Jan. 3 there would be no statewide virtual learning mandate. Here’s a list of schools that have announced the changes. If you know of a school not included on this list or would like to talk to a reporter about your concerns,Englewood - remote through Jan. 24.Teaneck High School - Remote through Jan. 7, but as of Friday, expected to return on Jan. 10.Burlington County Institute of Technology — remote through Jan 14.Black Horse Pike Regional School District - Virtual through Jan. 7, half days through Jan. 14.
