Michelle Nevels was in line at 1 a.m. Monday for the opening of H-E-B's new Tarrant County, North Texas, location in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Before the sun came up Wednesday, customers wrapped around the building of a new H-E-B in Mansfield , eager for its grand opening. But one superfan outwaited all the rest. Michelle Nevels got in line at 1 a.m. Monday in order to be the first customer inside the new store at 1670 E Broad St. , according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram . She called the experience 'amazing.' 'I just love H-E-B . I love it. I love their products,' Nevels told the Star-Telegram .
The newspaper put the number at 1,000. The first item purchased at the store? Ice cream, according to the Star-Telegram, although the publication did not specify whether it was a Creamy Creations flavor. At 128,000 square feet, the Mansfield store features a True Texas BBQ with a drive-thru, an H-E-B Pharmacy with a drive-thru and H-E-B's Texas Backyard department. About 800 employees will work at the location, according to a release from H-E-B.
