Manodrome stars Jesse Eisenberg as Ralphie, who finds himself welcomed into a self-styled family of men led by Dad Dan, one of Adrien Brody’s most anticipated upcoming roles.

Manodrome Continues 2023's Trend Of Highlighting Toxic Masculinity Close As seen in the film’s trailer, Manodrome leans heavily into the topic of toxic masculinity. It’s far from the only film of 2023 to do so, however, as the depiction of Ken in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie certainly touches on the subject. The 2023 Sundance standout film Fair Play does as well in a way that has made it one of the best films of the year.
Despite other films also exploring the troubling appeal and effects of a men’s rights mentality, Manodrome’s take on the subject is unique. For example, while Alden Ehrenreich’s Fair Play character seems to go through a similar experience, that film turns the lens more to Phoebe Dynevor’s Emily, who suffers as a result.
