Eighteen barangay leaders from the six districts of Manila were cited as "Most Outstanding Chairmen" at Bulwagang Villegas, Manila City Hall, on Monday, June 26.excellent and dedicatedManila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said the event is the annual awarding ceremony facilitated by the city government and the Manila Barangay Bureau in celebration of the Araw ng Maynila.

The mayor was joined by Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto, Liga ng Mga Barangay President Councilor Lei Lacuna, MBB Director Diosdado Santiago, and Department of Interior and Local Government - Manila Director John Visca. The evaluation of the selected chairmen from 896 city barangays was led by the DILG- Manila, MBB, and the city council members based on the submitted programs and projects throughout the past year.

The city government vested the most outstanding chairmen award to Venerando Pancho of Barangay 121, Dionisio Litiatco Jr. of Barangay 103, and Giovanni Tizon of Barangay 72 in District 1; Oscar Guevarra, Jr. of Barangay 180, Glenn Naguit of Barangay 241, and Inoria Siy of Barangay 207 in District 2; Ultramine Nieto of Barangay 276, Steven Yap of Barangay 282, and Eliza Franco of Barangay 349 in District 3.

Meanwhile, the barangay leaders awarded in District 4 were Freddie Bucad of Barangay 452, Arnaldo Rotap of Barangay 507, and Brenda Puertollano of Barangay 409; Basilia Boliche of Barangay 807, Erlinda Divinagracia of Barangay 696, and Roel Grajo of Barangay 698 in District 5; and Maria Teresita Jordan of Barangay 612, Aida Legaspi of Barangay 903, and Teresita Sangil of Barangay 866 in District 6.
