Police in Lansing, Michigan are conducting a manhunt for a parole absconder who fired shots at law enforcement officers. The suspect fled the scene in a black Jeep Liberty after exchanging gunfire with agents.

As the vehicle crossed into Delta Township, police said the suspect left the passenger side of the vehicle with a handgun and fired at the MDOC vehicle. The agents returned fire.The suspect then fled the scene in the vehicle, leading the agents in a short pursuit until they reached the Westland Center Plaza. There, the suspect ran from the vehicle on foot from the shopping plaza, while the vehicle also sped away.
At this time, Michigan State Police said they have yet to find the suspect or the vehicle. Canine units conducted a search and detectives later cleared the shopping plaza. In an update by MSP, they identified the suspect as 31-year-old Marcus Gamba Oglesby. He is described as a 6'1" Black man who weighs 135 pounds.
