The neighbors standing in front of the home said they’d pleaded for law enforcement to pay attention to their community’s needs. Dale Tiller, who has lived in the neighborhood for 13 years and is the head of the Trail’s End neighborhood watch group, said the area is known as a place with little police oversight.
“I could be in Galveston sipping a margarita before they get here,” Tiller said. “It’s not because of guns or bad people, it’s because people know they can get away with it.”
