Wout Weghorst has emerged as the likeliest striker to join Man United on loan in the January transfer window.
Weghorst, 30, is on loan at Besiktas, where he has scored eight goals in 16 games, but United manager Erik ten Hag has earmarked the Dutchman as an ideal support striker for Anthony Martial.
Weghorst is aligned with Ten Hag's transfer strategy of favouring players familiar to him or schooled in the Netherlands. Ten Hag and Weghorst also both hail from the Twente region.
