Marcus Rashford was Man United's top-scorer last season but his removal at 1-0 down against Crystal Palace on Saturday was telling.
The reaction around Old Trafford said it all on Saturday as Erik ten Hag decided to bring off Marcus Rashford.
That change last season would have been met with widespread groans inside Old Trafford, maybe even a chorus of boos. But on Saturday the reaction was one of indifference. United supporters, particularly the away-day regulars, have a knack for making their feelings clear from the stands and chats of 'Viva Garnacho' during the 1-0 win at Burnley were an obvious call for the Argentine's introduction. The 19-year-old had to wait until Wednesday's Carabao Cup win against Palace but took his chance with the opening goal.
"I think he knows he can do better than he does now," Ten Hag said of Rashford, "I am sure it will come. He works hard and that is what he is doing. He will net, he will finish and it will come but it is not going to be automatic.
