En total registró un incremento del 11% de ganancias con respecto al año anterior, a pesar de que el club participó en la Europa League y no en la más lucrativa Liga de Campeones.
Aún así el club reportó pérdidas por 42,1 millones de libras . El gasto de nómina en ese periodo bajó 52,8 millones de libras a 331,4 millones de libras . Esto se lo atribuyeron a la “rotación de jugadores” y a que se perdieron la Liga de Campeones. Cristiano Ronaldo estaba entre los jugadores con salarios altos que dejaron al club. El reporte indicó que la familia estadounidense Glazer no ha recibido dividendos, al igual que el resto de los accionistas.
