Manchester United secured a hard-fought win over Sheffield United on a night when club legend Sir Bobby Charlton was poignantly remembered. The players paid an emotional tribute to the United great before the game, with a minute's applause before kick-off and captain Bruno Fernandes laid a wreath on the pitch.

Oli McBurnie scored the penalty to level the game with the teams tied at the break. Diogo Dalot regained the lead for United deep into the second half with a stunning strike from distance.
