Manchester United made a staggering £100m bid for Declan Rice last summer, according to reports. They may well go back in for him at the end of the season too, with Arsenal and Chelsea also long time admirers of the England international.
The England international has now established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League and given he is still only 24, has the potential to get even better.
The Dutch coach eventually brought in serial-trophy winner Casemiro from Real Madrid, as he arrived at Old Trafford for £70m. This has since proved to be a smart addition, as he has been one of the Red Devil’s star performers this season. Since he became a first-team regular in the 2017/18 season, the midfielder has amassed 222 appearances for the Hammers, scoring 11 goals and making 13 assists in the process.
Interestingly, while at the World Cup, Rice voiced his desire to leave West Ham and join a club that consistently challenges for trophies.
