Police are investigating a case of a man who snuck into his ex-girlfriend's apartment just before they were both found with gunshot wounds.

A man and woman were killed early Thursday in an apparent murder-suicide on the west side of Houston, officials said. Police around 2:15 a.m. received a call about a shooting in the 3900 block of Woodchase Drive from a man who lived at an apartment complex with his niece, Lt. Ignacio Izaguirre, of the Houston Police Department, told On Scene reporters.
Officers arrived and found a woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s dead at the scene, Izaguirre said. The woman's uncle told investigators the couple had broken up a few weeks prior, and the ex-boyfriend had called him to be let into the complex, Izaguirre said. When the uncle went to the front of the complex, the ex-boyfriend used it as a chance to sneak into the apartment.
