Police late Thursday found a man and woman dead inside a Montrose area apartment in a case investigators say they are treating as a murder/suicide.
Officers around 8:20 p.m. responded to a welfare check in the 1000 block of Van Buren Street after a caller reached out with concerns about a neighbor, Lt. Ignacio Izaguirre, of the Houston Police Department, told On Scene reporters. Police found a man and woman dead inside an apartment, each with single gunshot wounds to the head, he said.
Witnesses told investigators the two had been dating, but previously broken up, he said. The woman had left work earlier that evening, but was supposed to return. She never did.
