According to airport police, officers made contact with the man around 11:30 p.m. in the lower levels of the airport. While speaking with him, police said he ran off while still holding the knife. Authorities temporarily cleared workers from parts of the airport as a precaution, including construction crews working nearby, until the situation was deemed safe.
