“How are you going to call the police to get a jump off and you know you have an outstanding warrant for attempted murder?’’
Published: Oct. 19, 2023, 9:27 a.m.A Brighton man got a little more than he bargained for this morning when he called police for help.He told them he was in the 200 block of Oakmont Street and his car needed a jump start.
Brighton police arrived at the scene and began the process to verify that the vehicle belonged to Pinkard. In doing so, said Lt. Kenneth Hooten, they realized Pinkard was a wanted man. Pinkard had outstanding warrants for attempted murder and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.When first responders arrived at the location, they found another 61-year-old man who told them he had been lying there all night.Warrants against Pinkard were issued on Sept. 26. Hooten said Pinkard was notified at that time.Pinkard was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 3:54 a.m. today. He remains held on bonds totaling $58,000.
