by JAMIE BURCH | KVII StaffMatthew Walter Hite pleaded guilty to five criminal charges, Oct. 16, 2023. A man in Texas who sexually abused dozens of children has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
His trial was scheduled to begin the same day as the plea, and Hite could've gotten 20 years in prison. " struggled with reporting for long periods of time due to shame, guilt, embarrassment, and fear of not being believed," the D.A.'s office said.Hite met his victims through numerous community organizations he joined. Some removed him as soon as they became aware of suspicious activity.
