Summit County prosecutors announced Wednesday a man convicted in a “cowardly” and “violent” robbery is heading to prison.
AKRON , Ohio - Summit County prosecutors announced Wednesday a man convicted in a “cowardly, violent” robbery is heading to prison. Lesarion Marsh , 23, will spend between 11 and 15 years behind bars for robbing and beating up the victim.
Lesarion Marsh, 23, will spend between 11 and 15 years behind bars for robbing and beating up the victim.Marsh was found guilty earlier this month for an aggravated robbery and felonious assault outside of the Woods of Fairlawn apartment complex. Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich said back in March 2024, Akron police officers responded to a 911 call reporting a robbery outside the apartments. The victim told police he had been set up and robbed, with the suspects taking his clothes, phone and keys. “Lesarion Marsh cowardly manipulated someone into a vulnerable position and violently robbed him. I want to thank my assistant prosecutors for their work in this case, and the work of the Akron Police Department for their investigative efforts.” Days leading up the robbery, prosecutors said the victim was contacted on Instagram by a woman he did not know, and the two made plans to meet. According to the release, on the day of the robbery, the woman picked up and drove the victim to the apartments. As the two were walking across the street, prosecutors said the victim noticed two men approaching from behind. According to the release, when the pair turned around, Marsh and a second suspect held them at gunpoint. Prosecutors said the suspects then attacked the victim, stealing his phone and keys before demanding his clothes.Police later determined Marsh orchestrated the entire setup, including having the victim contacted and brought to the apartments. The second suspect’s identity is still unknown to Akron police. Anyone with information should contact investigators.
