Quinton Shell, 26, of Birmingham is charged with first-degree robbery. He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
Carol Robinson | [email protected] around 12:45 p.m. Saturday, South Precinct officers were dispatched to a robbery in progress call in the 4600 Block of 13th Avenue North.
Officers quickly arrived on the scene when they learned an adult male had been robbed at gunpoint nearby of several belongings and the suspect was fleeing on foot. Officers got into a foot chase with the suspect. During the foot chase, officers heard the suspect fire a shot. Officers saw a bystander fall after the shot was fired.
