The 32-year-old man who died after a fight escalated into a shooting at an Arlington event venue early Sunday morning has been identified.

Arlington officers responded to a reported shooting about 4:29 a.m. in the 1200 block of California Lane, according to a previous statement. Police found multiple bullet casings in front of the business, the statement said. Witnesses told officials that a fight had broken out, during which an unidentified person fired multiple shots. Officials have not publicly said what led to the fight.Medical City Arlington staff alerted officers that Viswanath was being treated for a gunshot wound in its emergency room, the statement said.Police encourage anyone with information on the shooting to contact detective Anthony Stafford at 459-5739. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 469-8477.
