With Manchester United already heavily linked with African star Andre Onana, the Red Devils are reportedly also very keen on signing one of Morocco’s star players. SLInt MORE:

, the record Premier League champions have opened talks to sign Sofyan Amrabat from Serie A outfit Fiorentina in this transfer window.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder is entering the final 12 months of his contract in Florence, and it seems the English side are seriously keen on landing the Dutch-born midfielder. United are said to have already initiated talks with the Italian side over a transfer, though nothing is advanced at this stage as it is anticipated that any move will only be done later in the window.

The 49-time capped Morocco international was an integral part of the Atlas Lions’ journey to the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-final stage and since his performances in Qatar, he has garnered interest from Europe’s biggest clubs, with Bayern Munich also believed to be monitoring the player. United have already bought Mason Mount from Chelsea earlier this window, but due to Financial Fair Play, the club are in need of cheap alternatives having been priced out of moves for the likes of Declan Rice and Harry Kane.

Guterres offered his condolences to the families of the victims and expressed hopes for a speedy recovery to the dozens who were injured, UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq said in a statement issued that day.
