Manchester United have reportedly made a key decision in deliberations over the future of Mason Greenwood beyond this summer.
The 22-year-old was suspended by the club in January 2022 following his arrest on suspicion of rape and assault. He was then charged that October with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. The charges were discontinued by the CPS last February, who'a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction'.
As things stand, the 22-year-old will return to Old Trafford at the conclusion of the season, in which he has scored six goals in 25 games for Getafe., United have not yet made a decision on whether to keep the forward at Old Trafford, or whether to sell him or loan him out again next season.that would see him sold for significantly under their valuation. It is claimed that a sale is the club's 'preferred option'.
