Kieran McKenna was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's assistant during his reign at Man United and his career has since blossomed.
There were 10 clubs from the Premier League remaining in the fourth-round Carabao Cup draw earlier this week, but most were hoping not to be drawn against Ipswich Town, who are currently flying at the top of the Championship.
It wasn't a surprise to see Ipswich claim Wolves' scalp in midweek. The impact McKenna has made has been remarkable and the decision to gamble on the young coach by giving him a first job in management was a masterstroke. Solskjaer was supported by McKenna, Michael Carrick and Mike Phelan and Eric Ramsay was eventually welcomed to the backroom staff - following a recommendation from McKenna - in the Norwegian's final summer as manager.
"Loughborough is a really good place for players, but also coaches and analysts before entering the professional game and part of our role there was to bring in aspiring young coaches to work with the team," Cushion said. Ramsay, who was brought to the club to look after set-pieces, now has a much wider berth as a first-team coach and he turned down the opportunity to become Blackpool's manager in January with Ten Hag showing a desire for him to stay.
