Lorain County Sheriff's deputies arrested Joshua Thompson for speeding in a school zone near Midview Elementary School on January 10th. According to a Facebook post by the department, Thompson was driving with a suspended license stemming from an alleged OVI-related crash on July 7th, 2024, which tragically resulted in the death of an Elyria woman. Thompson is currently facing an indictment for aggravated vehicular homicide in connection to that incident.
Furthermore, deputies stated that due to Thompson's prior felony conviction, he was in violation of both state and federal law by possessing a weapon. Consequently, Thompson is facing several felony charges, including weapons under disability and illegal possession of a deadly weapon in a school safety zone.Copyright 2025 WOIO. All rights reserved
