Astley Skeene, 49, is due before magistrates on Monday
Police were called to reports of a fight involving two men on Corporation Street at around 6.15pm on Wednesday, April 19. One of them was said to have a large knife.
He has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Monday.
