The Fire Marshal’s Office arrested a man suspected of setting more than 15 fires in a far south Bexar County neighborhood.Martinez, who was taken into custody without incident, is accused of setting fires in the Oak Island community over the past three months, targeting vehicles, residences and wildland areas.Martinez was arrested after deputies, who were surveilling him, saw him set a fire to a singlewide mobile home and flee to his residence, the Fire Marshal’s Office said.
Along with the Fire Marshal’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Texas Rangers; Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and San Antonio Police Department assisted in the investigation.
