Jay Lennox had been chatting to the victim but suddenly turned violent, Hamilton Sheriff Court heard this week.
“Lennox engaged him in conversation, even shaking his hand at one point, saying he knew him from somewhere.“He then punched the victim with his clenched fist on the lower left side of his face, causing him to stumble backwards into a shop doorway.” The court heard that the assault was captured on camera and, when arrested, Lennox told police ‘Nae point denying it with CCTV and all that’.
