Police caught a Streetsboro man Aug. 21 in a traffic stop who had arrest warrants in several communities for passing bad checks in grocery stores this past November. A Bainbridge Township officer on patrol saw the driver, 43, ignore a stop sign 7:45 p.m. and stopped the vehicle. The driver jumped out of his vehicle, but was ordered to return.
After stopping a vehicle for ignoring a stop sign 7:45 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Haskins Road intersection, the Streetsboro driver, 43, jumped out of his vehicle, but was ordered to return. He had several active warrants for his arrest, including one for passing bad checks totaling $630 at stores in Bainbridge Township, Aurora and Chagrin Falls. Police arrested him and transported him to the Geauga County jail.Police closed the road for several hours 7:40 p.m. Aug.
There was damage to both vehicles, according to police and the subject showed signs of intoxication. He refused to take a breath test and was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash.Called to a crash scene 4:20 p.m. Aug. 17 where one person was reported to smell strongly of an alcoholic beverage, police found the at-fault driver with numerous small Fireball bottles on her front and back seats.
