A male suspect broke into a home in the 2000-block of North Clifton Avenue in the city's Lincoln Park neighborhood just after 11:30 p.m., CPD said. At this time the motive behind the attack is unclear. The victim was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in fair condition CPD said. Mati said this is a typically safe area with many DePaul students living nearby. Friday she helped the victim's family and said she spoke with her tenant, who is recovering from stab wounds to his head and body.
