Man fatally shot in Oakland Monday night is identified.
OAKLAND — A 52-year-old Southern California man fatally shot Monday night as he was driving in East Oakland was identified by police Thursday as Tyree Foster.
Police still don’t have a motive for the killing but said it appears Foster may have gotten into an argument with someone on the street who then shot at him as he drove away. No arrests have been made. Authorities said Foster had ties to Oakland but most recently was living in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles County. Authorities said he had been in Oakland about a week visiting people.
He was shot around 11:28 p.m. Monday as he was driving in the 8700 block of Dowling Street. His car crashed into a parked vehicle; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
