Officers spoke to all those involved and management decided that they wanted to revoke the tenant’s application and cancel his move-in. They stood by until the man removed the items he had already brought into the apartment.A resident turned over evidence Jan. 11 from a crime that occurred in Virginia about a year earlier. She said that she found the evidence while unpacking items and called the investigating police agency in Virginia, who told her to turn it over to her local police.A resident said Jan. 11 that another woman came to her home and threatened her because she had recently found her husband at the home.Theft: Richmond Park Drive East The leasing office at the Parkview apartments reports Jan. 9 that they had recorded 25 thefts of air-conditioning units since November.The incident is under investigation.Officers were called to Mapco Jan. 8 for a report of a customer causing a disturbance because he did not want to provide his identification for a purchase of a tobacco product. The situation was adjusted with the man showing his ID and being allowed to make the purchase without further incident.A resident reported Jan. 12 that she had not been able to contact her sister since November. She originally suspected that the woman was not answering her phone because she was angry with her and other family members but was growing concerned because she had been stalked in 2023.Theft: Wilson Mills Road A shoplifter surrendered a stolen cart of merchandise to Meijer loss prevention Jan. 12 but quickly fled from the store.The suspect was identified as a 41-year-old Lyndhurst resident based on the registration of the vehicle had used. He was the registered owner but lived at the same home.A Cleveland man, 28, came to the station Jan. 9 to discuss a matter regarding his ex-wife not following the custody agreement for their child. Officers advised him that the civil matter would be documented and then arrested him on a warrant out of Lorain County for failure to appear on a child support charge.Theft: Wilson Mills Road A shoplifter fled on foot from Meijer Jan. 10 after loss prevention approached her after seeing her concealing items into her purse at the self-checkout registers. Responding officers did not locate her but loss prevention, having known the woman from previous incidents, pointed out her vehicle in the parking lot. A K-9 sniff was conducted after officers learned that the woman had been arrested the previous year and found with methamphetamines in her vehicle. They then towed the vehicle to the station and searched it after obtaining a search warrant but only located a small amount of marijuana and a digital scale. The Euclid woman, 41, was eventually arrested for the theft when she came to the station to obtain a tow release for the vehicle.
