Man shot during attempted carjacking in Lincoln Park community [Breaking]
A 21-year-old man was shot during an attempted carjacking in the Lincoln Park community Friday night, San Diego police said.
The victim was sitting with another person in a car on Logan Avenue near South 49th Street about 8 p.m. when three people approached the passenger side window and demanded the pair inside hand over their stuff, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said. The 21-year-old, who was in the driver’s seat, put the vehicle in reverse in an attempt to get away, and one of the people outside shot at the car, police said. The driver was struck in the upper leg, and was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren’t believed to be life-threatening.The three suspects were last seen running into a nearby apartment complex, Heims said. They were not located.
