Houston Police officials said that three men walked up to a customer of the food truck and asked for $20. The man told the suspects he would go get the money. walking to some nearby apartments. Police said he returned with a gun, pointing it at the suspects but he didn't fire. The suspects were armed, and opened fire on the man, killing him.
The suspects could be seen on surveillance video from a nearby convenience store running off with guns in hand. Alejandro Mendoza Garcia said the victim was his friend a regular customer at the food truck. He said his friend was a good father and a hard worker. "I hope God forgives them," he said. "I hope God forgives them because I can't. They killed him. They killed him and I can't do anything about it."
