A judge in Maricopa County has sentenced Antwaun Ware to natural life in prison after he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and endangerment in the 2018 death of his ex-girlfriend, Jasmine Rain Dunbar. According to police, Dunbar's body was found near 107th Avenue and Camelback Road, after being set on fire. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office (MCAO) released a statement saying that Phoenix Police detectives retraced Ware's steps and discovered he drove to a field in the area.
During the investigation, a seven-month-old baby was found in a car seat on the side of the road near 83rd Avenue and Camelback, along with Dunbar's identification and several other personal items. Ware's conviction comes after a thorough investigation and prosecution by the MCAO. County Attorney Rachel Mitchell expressed her satisfaction with the outcome, stating: 'This defendant’s callous actions have no place in our community. Thanks to the hard work of my prosecutors, he will live the rest of his life behind bars.
