A man has been sentenced to life in prison for a double murder in Dauphin County.
Gregory Greene pleaded guilty but mentally ill in the shooting deaths of Tyler Thames and his sister, Meredith Greene, on Feb. 9, 2022.Greene also shot another person and stabbed two children, ages 8 and 6, but they survived.Violent rampageThe Dauphin County District Attorney's Office provided the following account of Greene's deadly spree.'Greene stole a running Dodge Charger outside the victim's home at 5:45 a.m. in Swatara Township, Dauphin County.
The defendant continued down the hall to the bedroom of his nieces, R.T., age 8, and A.T., age 6. He attempted to shoot R.T., but he was out of ammunition. The defendant stabbed R.T. in the neck and shoulder and threw her down the stairs. He then stabbed A.T. in the neck. 'Despite being shot in the face, Brittonie Meredith was able to run out the front door and alert state narcotics agents who were serving a search warrant across the street.
