An ex-employee at Intuit alleges he was illegally fired for Instagram posts attacking drag queen events for children, according to court documents filed in San Francisco court.
— Gilton posted two separate messages about cultural “pendulum swings” in regard to drag performances. Both posts, the suit alleges, were shared “during nonworking hours away from the employer’s premises.”
“We’ve got 2-year-old babies at drag shows, and contemporary leftists are cheering it on to prove how 'progressive' they are – ‘progressive’ at all costs,” Gilton wrote in one Instagram post published June 14, 2022 in which he likens drag shows to strip club performances but assures that homosexuality is “not wrong.
Most drag performances catered for children are “story hours” in which queens read to children at libraries and other child-friendly public spaces. Children are typically not allowed inside bars and nightclubs, where a vast majority of drag performances in the United States are held, and other spaces that do allow children almost always require adult supervision.
In a second post published June 28, 2022, per the suit, he wrote, “… now, if you don’t fall in line with whatever new craze reactionary psychotic mouth-foaming public tirade propagated by the far-leftist globalist corporate media and their automatrons in leftist culture, you have your career destroyed, you’re canceled, you’re erased from society, and you’re deemed a bigot, a racist, a 'hate' monger, a pariah, all because you didn’t do as you were told by leftist mob?” he writes.
