A dice game turned deadly after authorities say an employee who stayed behind after hours to play with coworkers and friends was robbed and shot to death by several gunmen. No arrests have been made so far.
– A man is dead, authorities say after he was robbed and shot to death outside a business in west Harris County during a dice game.
It happened shortly after midnight on Forest Acres near E Mt. Houston. That’s where a man, identified by Sheriff Ed Gonzalez as 46-year-old Hector Ruiz, was playing a dice game with other people. At some point, investigators say several individuals approached Ruiz demanding money and were shot in the process. Responding officers found Ruiz at the scene with several gunshot wounds and confirmed he died from his injuries. We’re told Ruiz was an employee at the business and a regular dice game takes place, which may have encouraged the gunmen. Investigators described the shooters as younger men, who took off in a light-colored SUV.
