Man pleads not guilty to attempted murder, other charges in downtown San Diego crime spree [Breaking]
A 25-year-old man accused in a crime spree that involved six attacks in 15 minutes — including at least two stabbings — in downtown San Diego pleaded not guilty Wednesday to attempted murder and other charges.
The charges stem from a string of attacks that unfolded about 5:30 a.m. Monday. The crimes include at least two stabbings — a 69-year-old stabbed 14 times and a 71-year-old stabbed four times, according to San Diego police and prosecutors. Both victims are expected to survive.Among the other victims was a man who was robbed and another who had a glass bottle thrown at him.
Police Lt. Brian Avera said Wednesday that at least one victim told police the assailant appeared to be homeless and under the influence of drugs. The first attack was a robbery attempt, according to police and prosecutors. The victim was the man stabbed 14 times
