Kenneth Hairston , 20, faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and weapons under disability for the killing of 18-year-old Da'Mya Cummerlander.I am just angry -- it's a sin to hate, but today I have hatred in my heart," said Monique Thompson, Cummerlander's mother. "I am angry that someone took my daughter for no reason.
Court documents said Hairston went to Columbus police headquarters with an attorney the day after the shooting. Hairston reportedly told police that he was with Cummerlander and four others.A person allegedly handed him a pistol and tried to get him to trade guns. When he said he didn't want the gun and tried to give it back, Hairston claimed the other person smacked his hand, causing the gun to fire.
