A guilty verdict in a first-degree murder case was found against a Union City man after his six-week-long ‘violent crime spree’ ended in the death of an Oakland teenager, according to officials.

Jacobi Gaines was found guilty of murdering 17-year-old Hassan Humphries on Jan. 13, 2020, in the 1400 block of 48th Avenue at 4:44 p.m. According to officials, the 23-year-old was a convicted felon when he shot and killed Humphries.He was also convicted on enhancements for using a firearm, using a deadly weapon, causing great bodily injury, and being a felon on probation at the time these crimes were committed.Officials said the crime spree started on or around Dec.

"This verdict removes a dangerous person from our community," Royl Roberts, chief assistant district attorney said about the case.
