Motives and suspects are being sought in two Oakland shootings Saturday night that left a man dead and a woman wounded.
OAKLAND — A 26-year-old man was fatally shot and a 28-year-old woman was wounded in a pair of shootings Saturday night that happened about 20 minutes apart in different areas of the city, authorities said.The fatal shooting happened about 7:07 p.m. Saturday outside in the 8000 block of Edes Avenue not far from the Oakland Coliseum.
The victim, who lived in the area, was taken to a hospital where he died a few hours later, authorities said. The killing is the 47th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 53 homicides in the city.
