Authorities investigate after a police officer was shot in Deptford in the area of Doman Avenue on Friday, March 10, 2023.A police officer was shot and wounded before a suspect was shot and killed Friday afternoon in Gloucester County, authorities said.
The officer was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and was later placed in stable condition, according to the New Jersey Police Benevolent Association. Doman Avenue resident Daniel Howell told reporters gathered at the scene that police asked to review his home surveillance camera video.
Howell expressed his best wishes for the injured officer, saying he knows many on the Deptford police force.”I know all these guys. I was the president of Rotary in town. I have respect for every one of them.”
